Q: Why Not gallery?

We are ambitious, we want our local art industry to be sustainable. So join us in our effort to support our ecosystem. #notculturalwasteland.

We provide transparency in our commissions, our artworks’ provenance, our artworks’ conditions and our pricings. We believe the industry needs more transparency to attract new collectors. We hope that all our customers will make informed purchase.

We offer the best commission rate in the market! Ask the other players!

Q: How to use notgallery.co

Product filters

Provenance: Click on ‘From Artist/ Artist’s Estate’ checkbox if you want to support artists directly. ‘Private Collection’ is for buyers who are interested in the secondary art market.

In Gallery: Click on ‘Yes’ checkbox to know which artworks are currently in #02-41 Bras Basah Complex.

 

You may see this icon on the top right corner of an artwork in the artworks(store) page. It symbolises artworks which are currently in #02-41 Bras Basah Complex.

 

Do look at the important note of each artwork at their respective product page since they are important.

Buying/Collecting

Q: Why buy from Not gallery?

Artists will receive the most % from a sale. We want buyers to support artists and then, galleries.

Q: Are artworks' price negotiable?

Artworks that are negotiable will have button “Make an offer”. The range of the deduction depends on a case by case scenario.

Artworks that are non-negotiable will only have button “Add to cart”. These artworks are usually works from young/emerging artists which we think that the culture of negotiation shouldn’t be applied on.

Q: What do I have to take note before I purchase any artworks from Not gallery?

All artworks are to be sold as they are. They may come with or without framing. The artworks’ conditions may vary too. It is highly recommended to contact us for more detailed information.

The process of sale can happen both offline or online. While the gallery ensures due diligence to update the status of all products, rare case where they are overlapping sale transactions may happen. In such case, the gallery will have the rights to determine which transaction to be proceed.

Q: Why doesn't Not gallery accept credit/debit card payment?

Hitpay

Transaction fees (2-3%) from cards payment can be used to promote SG arts. We accept Paynow (dynamic QR) which we think is equally convenient.

Q: Why does Hitpay appears when I checkout with paynow option?

Hitpay is our Paynow payment solution service provider. Hence upon scanning the PayNow QR in the HitPay checkout page, the customer would see the beneficiary as HitPay Payment Solutions Pte Ltd.

Q: Why do I have to provide personal contact information when buying artworks?

This is to prevent money laundry activities where anonymous buyers use art dealing as a mode to conceal the origin of money, both online and offline.

Q: Does Not gallery provide delivery service?

Yes, we will liaise with our professional art logistic partners for your delivery at a flat cost of SGD60. Just click on the delivery option when checking out.

Alternatively, you may self-collect 3 days after your purchase from our office-gallery (#02-41) at Bras Basah Complex during our operating hours.

Q: Does Not gallery provide art installation service?

Yes, just click on the installation checkbox upon checking out. We will liaise with our professional art logistic partners. Or contact us at admin@notgallery.co. We will advise on the costs on art installation.

Q: What is the refund policy of Not gallery?

Refunds will have to be considered on a case-by-case scenario. You are highly recommended to contact us directly. It is our upmost importance to provide good quality customer service.

Q: I’m based outside Singapore and would like to acquire some SG artworks. Can I?

A: Yes, you may contact us directly. We do accept oversea funds transfer. We will liaise with our professional art logistic partners for international shipping.

Selling/Consigning

Q: Why sell with Not gallery?

A: At a highly competitive flat rate of 20% commission,

For sellers: We provide an e-commerce website for a 24/7 exposure of the selling works to any visitors. We also ensure regular posting of selling works on our social media platforms. We accept artworks for private sale too. Contact us to know more.

For artists: We don’t look to represent artists and control artists’ distribution of their creations. We collaborate with artists to do exhibitions, seek corporate partnerships, increase their exposures and sell their creations. For young/emerging artists who are not in the market yet: Our commission will be at 15%.

Disclaimer: Works in exhibitions may be under a higher gallery commission to cover higher exhibiting expenses.

Q: Does Not gallery sell Non Sg works?

We only sell works from SG artists, meaning any artists who have been contributing to SG arts scene. As our resources are limited, we aim to prioritize on what matters to us most – SG arts.

Q: What are Not gallery’s criteria on accepting artworks for consignment?

1. They must be creations done by SG artists.

2. Fit our definition of “fine arts”. (Yes, we don’t sell deco art.)

3. Fit our gallery’s directions.

Q: Why do I have to provide personal contact information when selling artworks?

This is to prevent sellers from using the gallery to dispose ill-gotten artworks.
