Graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Chua Say Hua (1966 – ) pursued his BA in Fine Arts at The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia before obtaining his Postgraduate Certificate in Fine Arts at Goldsmith College, University of London.

Say Hua has received many awards: The Young Artist Award (2001) by National Arts Council, First Prize in UOB Painting of the Year Competition (2001), Philip Morris Group of Companies Singapore Arts Awards (1998), First Prize in Expression in Art Competition (1997) and Most Promising Young Artist Award by Philippe Charriol Foundation (1993). Say Hua was artist-in-residence at the Vermont Studio Centre, USA.
